Job Title: Supervisor, Payroll

Salary: $55,000 – $75,500 / yr

Job Description:
The Supervisor, Payroll will oversee the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate processing for multi-state payrolls, including special payrolls like severance pay and bonuses. This role involves reviewing metrics and audit controls for compliance, collaborating with other teams within the Payroll department, and participating in year-end payroll functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily payroll operations, including large bonus processing and year-end reporting.
• Ensure deadlines are met for payroll processing, audit reports, and system maintenance.
• Enforce cut-off times for payroll processing and review protocols.
• Collaborate with the Payroll Support Team on processing worksheets and compliance documents.
• Train Payroll Coordinators and implement process improvements.
• Develop strong communication with all payroll areas and field locations.
• Conduct random reviews for adherence to departmental standards.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory issues affecting payroll.

Teammate Management:

• Provide leadership to direct reports and facilitate teammate development.
• Ensure compliance with employment policies and laws.
• Manage teammate employment activities including hiring, evaluations, and performance issues.
• Address teammate relations issues and report performance metrics to management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ payroll experience in a multi-state environment.
• Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, including taxation and garnishments.
• CPP designation preferred.
• Experience with payroll systems in a high-volume environment.
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with electronic payroll systems is a plus.
