Responsibilities You will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement. You will be involved in planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems. You will manage the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements; and/or ensure the rigorous application of information security/ information assurance policies. You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. You will plan, develop, and maintain long-range hardware and software change plans including requirements, design, software, hardware, documentation, and procedures. You will identify, track, and manage the modifications required to enhance/maintain the accuracy, reliability and security of installed hardware and software. You will provide for training and implementation assistance; reviews and prepares recommendations concerning waivers of mandatory standards. You will manage the implementation, publication, and dissemination of information processing technical and procedural standards to the user community. You will be responsible for protection measures such as file access controls, 2-person integrity (TPI) software/physical safeguards, personnel/visitor control at central/remote sites. You will develop/acquire systems software tools/support services to assignment/management of passwords, user IDs and other software security mechanisms to ensure 2-person integrity (TPI). You will review and evaluate existing software and procedures and provides methods for reporting and correcting ADP security violations or breakdowns. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: lead or develop teams, maintaining IT security and network systems by planning the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Preparing briefing materials and supports SPCIO in briefing SSP senior leadership in matters related to the incumbent areas of responsibilities. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Identifying lack of policies and processes in the selected information management focus areas to assists the Data Steward in these areas to resolve the deficiencies. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. This position is part of the Navy Nuclear Deterrent Mission. This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-03 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13. This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
