Responsibilities Instructs Cadets and assigned support personnel in the theory and practice of safe and competitive parachuting. Serves as first-line supervisor of subordinates and provides a full range of supervisory functions to include performance management, employee relations, employee recognition, dispute resolution, training and development. Recommends appointment of Cadets for team and conducts initial and/or recertification testing. Conducts initial training and certifies qualification of new personnel in accordance with the FAA and the United States Parachute Association regulations. Prepares and develops instructional material for Cadets in the fundamentals of parachute inspection, repair, and assembly of all assigned parachute systems including ram air main canopies, harnesses, flags, streamers, tandem equipment and altimeters. Oversees procurement, inventory, storage, care, maintenance, accountability, and utilization of supplies and equipment. Provides recommendations to OICs for additional resources when needed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Three (3) years' experience instructing students in the proper use of equipment, principles, practices, and instruction of parachuting such as how to inspect and don chutes, perform on-ground and emergency in-air chute repair, and the proper assembly of all chute components. AND Must possess current FAA Senior Parachute Rigger, Accelerated Free Fall Instructor, and Tandem Instructor certifications. This experience and certification must be reflected on your resume and supporting documentation must be uploaded at the time of application to be considered eligible for this position. HIGHLY PREFERRED: - Experience organizing, directing, and managing a collegiate parachute team, or equivalent program. AND - Completion of 1000 jumps and the basic IBA static progression certification for vertical wind tunnels. The experience/certification must be reflected on your resume and your certification uploaded at the time of application to be considered a highly preferred candidate. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
