What impact you will have
This is a crucial role in ensuring that products distributed by industrial vendors and manufactured by Submer meet all required quality standards and specifications to properly satisfy customer needs.
External Quality:
The applicant will participate from the beginning of the new vendors approval, guaranteeing and ensuring alignment towards quality standards between Submer and 3rd parties, and will own the quality KPIs for each vendor, being directly responsible for their quality performance.
Internal Quality:
The applicant will cooperate with the existing quality team to define and adjust the internal processes to guarantee incoming / outgoing quality acceptance according to the defined levels.
What you’ll do
- Conducting regular internal quality inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Collaborating with suppliers to ensure that these maintain quality specifications. Conducting supplier audits and evaluations as necessary.
- Performing various tests and analyses on products using specialized equipment and techniques to identify defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from quality standards.
- Reporting findings to relevant stakeholders such as quality managers, production supervisors, or engineers.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement to enhance product quality, efficiency, and consistency. It may involve suggesting modifications to manufacturing processes, equipment, or procedures.
- Investigating the root causes of quality issues or non-conformities and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide training to production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Quality Control.
- Expertise in metal or electrical or chemical manufacturing processes and quality control methods.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Capability to define Quality KPIs using data analysis.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, quality standards (such as ISO 9001), and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge in Six Sigma and lean Manufacturing methodologies for their implementation.
- High negotiation and influential skills to work with vendors and internal teams.
- Languages: English and Spanish
