Based in our Boulder, Colorado location, you will collaborate within a global organization to continuously improve the quality of purchased mechanical components and assemblies by developing qualification plans using the Advance Quality Planning (AQP) methodology, participating in projects for New Product Development (NPD) and strategic initiatives, resolving non-conformances via root cause analysis and corrective action implementation, and optimizing the systems and tools used by the global Supplier Quality Engineering team.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Establish new suppliers and qualify components for production
- Represent Supplier Quality Engineering on NPD teams
- Perform audits of suppliers’ quality management systems and processes.
- Create qualification plans and verify AQP deliverables.
- Monitor and manage the quality of purchased components
- Respond to production quality issues and lead disposition of non-conformances.
- Develop receiving inspection plans and verification methods.
- Provide supplier quality input for metrics reporting and organizational communication.
- Continuously improve supplier quality
- Analyze supplier quality metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead cross-functional root cause analyses and corrective action projects.
- Implement solutions that optimize the balance of quality, cost, and performance.
- Optimize Supplier Quality Engineering systems, processes, and tools
- Advocate for the needs of specific Emerson product lines in global system improvement initiatives.
- Continually learn and teach others about Supplier Quality Engineering systems, tools, and skills.
- Create and maintain process documentation and work instructions.
You make new connections and build relationships in other areas and teams. You create a plan and outline for various audiences. You convert ideas into actions and produce results with new initiatives. You seek out experts and innovators to learn about the impact emerging technologies might have on your business.
- BS in Engineering
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
- Able to work well in a team environment and partner with global colleagues
- Able to communicate using the appropriate level of detail for various audiences
- Available for domestic/international travel as required
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management systems, engineering drawings, process auditing, and problem-solving tools
- Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- 4+ years in one or more of the following: Supplier Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Design Engineering and/or Research and Development
- Certifications (Lean, Six Sigma, Certified Auditor) are a plus
- History leading and completing projects using effective project management techniques and tools

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, the salary range for this role is $100,080-116,760 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
