The Supplier Quality team in Ave Maria, Florida (AMIE) is responsible for supporting supplier quality activities at AMIE. We are searching for a Co-op pursuing an Engineering or Natural Sciences degree to support the Supplier Quality team at AMIE. The successful candidate will investigate, disposition, and document supplier provided materials with guidance from the engineering staff. The individual will perform various actions (Root Cause Analysis, Continuous Improvement, DMAIC) and will be detail oriented in the execution and documentation of these actions. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.
This internship will run from January 2025 – June 2025. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Ave Maria, FL facility.
Main Objective:
To support various tasks related to improving congruence between Arthrex and supplier inspection requirements, tools, and methods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review opportunities for inspection alignment or efficiency gains.
- Review parts on hold and develop reporting to allow stakeholders to drive for product release.
- Generate NCR documentation (sort forms, quality bulletins, etc).
- Assist in and develop strategies in reducing overall open nonconformances at AMIE, additionally learn and support all phases of the process.
- Assist with generating the month over moth metrics report outs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Progress towards a college degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or similar degree required. Junior or above, studying Mechanical Engineering, Bio-Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science and Engineering preferred.
(Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.) - Statistical analysis experience preferred.
- Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Ability to effectively communicate, oral and written, and possess the ability to work through technical issues.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
Knowledge of surgical equipment/instrumentation and mechanical testing equipment preferred.PC, ProEngineer or other 3D modeling software a plus.
