As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes by effectively managing the procurement and planning of materials. You will be responsible for coordinating with suppliers, inventory management, and logistics activities to meet production demand while optimizing costs and efficiency.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer POs to assure daily production demands are met for onsite production and co-manufacturing locations.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and packaging to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and carrying cost.
- Establish optimal minimum and maximum stock levels for raw materials to ensure manufacturing deadlines are met.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering open communication and resolving any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Troubleshoot supplier invoicing errors and work with accounts payable to address root causes to prevent future invoice discrepancies.
- Identify opportunities to reduce purchased materials costs in new and existing products.
- Promptly communicate any material shortage or non-conformances to spearhead solutions to mitigate disruption to the production schedule.
- Plan and track all logistics required for incoming purchase orders.
- Ensures accuracy of ERP data for raw materials and packaging.
- Collaborate with Corporate Procurement on vendor performance, supply disruption issues, and forecast changes.
- Performs all other related duties as required.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field such as supply chain management, business, finance, manufacturing management (or equivalent additional experience)
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in Buyer experience working with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software; InforM3 experience a plus.
- Self-disciplined and self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal direction.
- Experience multitasking, prioritizing, tracking, coordinating, and expediting activities to meet production schedules.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook applications
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Proactive problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
