Requirements:
As the Supply Chain Manager, you will be reporting to the Director of Operations and leading supply planning, supplier relationships, and in-plant materials management for Federal Eagle - the largest manufacturer of funeral hearses and limousines in North America. You will be accountable for the supply and movement of all materials from their source to the point of use on the assembly line, actively planning and executing to achieve productivity and efficiency targets as well as managing risk and generating cost savings to achieve the strategic goals of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Lead supply chain and materials management initiatives by providing direction and guidance as well as setting clear performance expectations and coaching for excellence for key stakeholders.
- Create a vision and strategy for materials management and the supply chain and work with senior leaders to accomplish organizational goals.
- Lead/collaborate with demand planning, product line leadership, engineering, operations, and finance teams to drive cross-functional alignment.
- Identify opportunities to develop, improve or simplify processes, guidelines and policies for effective supplier management practices, order fulfillment, inventory management and materials management activities.
- Identify business risks and implementing resolutions and scalable mechanisms across the in-plant materials management and supply chain management function.
- Build and develop relationships at the executive level with suppliers and partners to ensure contractual commitment, alignment, and accountability.
- Establish a culture focused on continuous process improvements aimed at achieving predictability and efficient materials management operations.
- Establish performance monitoring/KPI programs to effectively measure the performance of our internal team and our supply chain.
- Manage the supply chain for all LCC planning, safety stocks, and distribution
- Manage to ensure the SIOP plan is set in accordance to meet customer expectations and that all manufacturing locations are in line to support it.
- Identify and implement total supply chain improvements. Increase supply chain visibility to assist in inventory reduction and on time delivery. Evaluate networks and pursue systems/process enhancements to reduce costs and improve reliability.
- Work to optimize freight costs while supporting inventory turn targets.
- Develop analytics to measure, evaluate, analyze, and take corrective action to continually improve key metrics in materials management and the supply chain.
- Champion Lean methods in material handling and through the supply base.
- Responsible for maintaining and improving all aspects of the Materials Management function.
- Ensure and maintain strong intra-department relationships within all function of the company.
- Adhere to safety policies and practices behavioral based safety 100% of the time.
- Other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements:
- BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field and at least 10 years' experience overseeing Supply Chain and Materials Management for manufacturing.
- Automotive industry or assembly-plant experience is desired.
- Advanced knowledge of ERP/MRP systems. JD Edwards experience is a plus.
- Able to effectively communicate and facilitate through encouragement, motivation, and inspiration at all levels of the organization.
- Deals calmly and effectively with high stress, fast-moving situations.
- APICS certification preferred.
- Understanding of all functional aspects of the supply chain and material-handling best practices.
- A true "team-oriented" leader that embraces the idea that he/she is a "go-to" person.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
