About the Job
As the Supply Chain Planning Manager, you will be responsible for devising and executing strategies to ensure the efficient production and timely delivery of products that consistently meet customer expectations. Your role will involve ensuring the manufacturing unit has the necessary information, schedules, materials, and systems in place to respond promptly and accurately to customer orders. You will also oversee the integration of sales forecasts, budgeting, and inventory management for both in-process and finished goods. This is a senior-level position that requires in-depth knowledge of supply chain management, operations, sales environments, and cost structures.
This is an on-site role that reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the planning team, providing mentorship and fostering growth opportunities.
- Oversee communication with the customer service team to address critical customer requirements.
- Ensure the planning team meets service goals for both “Make to Order” and “Make to Stock” customers.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing finished goods and intermediate inventory levels to achieve working capital objectives.
- Prepare and present monthly rough cut capacity reviews for the upcoming 12-month period, identifying potential issues and collaborating with the team to prevent customer service or working capital challenges.
- Ensure the planning team issues a weekly frozen schedule to the operations team that aligns with the “Production Sign Off” and meets customer needs.
- Participate in daily production floor operations meetings alongside plant supervisors, engineers, and planners.
- Support the Plan Ex team in managing and maintaining system settings and supply chain processes.
- Collaborate with the demand planning and raw material teams to identify opportunities and resolve issues.
- Lead initiatives to reduce the risk of obsolete and slow-moving inventory within the planning team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supply chain or operations within a manufacturing environment.
- At least 2 years of experience in team management.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management is preferred.
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP).
- Experience with Oracle ERP systems.
