About the Job
As Planning Manager, you will lead a team to focus on building the forward visibility of inventory requirements, based on both historical and future stated customer demand and vendor supply requirements. You will build models through statistical analysis of sales history and enrichment through close engagement with key business partners – both internal and external. With proper modeling, you will provide the supply and/or demand recommendations for the network in order to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including inventory targets, service levels, and inventory health.
Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for supply planning, using statistical analysis models, and Blue Yonder (BY), to determine how the demand will be sourced and to ensure receiving the inventory needed quickly, efficiently, and within budget.
+ Manage the Supply Chain Planning team in the development of constantly evolving strategies.
+ Obtain, analyze, and interpret supply chain relevant data. Review Statistical Forecast and Forecast Error; monitor inventory and track the performance of current supply methods and provide ways to improve that process by identifying focus areas and driving appropriate actions to achieve inventory targets.
+ Define allocation plans for constrained products, ensuring optimal inventory deployment across geographies and segments to achieve sell-through.
+ Recommend how to improve supply planning systems and processes to achieve greater efficiency and scale to reduce costs. Drive implementation and adoption of new capabilities.
+ Use analysis results to improve supply chain processes, performance and to reduce costs.
+ Perform analyses and build ‘what-if’ scenario models to support decision making; work to improve data systems and develop new reporting tools to improve supply visibility and accuracy.
+ Lifecycle management of inventory programs within budget.
+ Planning supply and demand and implementing quarterly product and/or program reviews to measure against current KPI objectives, such as reducing days of supply and improving forecast accuracy.
+ Developing inventory plan in alignment with service level agreements based on sales or commercial plans or required via customer contract or availability of supply.
+ Monitoring exceptions outside of inventory plan and working with business partners and vendors to ensure required service levels.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree required
+ 7-10 years of experience working in the planning and inventory solutions in a wholesale environment with a high growth wholesaler, required
+ 1-2 years of experience managing a group or team of individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff
+ Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain processes, such as SIOP, MRP, Forecasting, Demand and Supply Planning, Indirect Procurement, Materials Management and Logistics.
+ Use of various software and computer applications, such as Blue Yonder, JDA, Oracle, SAP, SAS, APO and Microsoft Office programs, required
+ Strong process/system background and proven ability to rapidly understand, use and drive improvements in new processes/systems. Lean Practitioner
+ Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
+ A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others; easily accepts constructive input from others.
+ Effective leader of distributed teams, collaborating in a technology-enabled hybrid model (on-site & remote)
