Summary About the Position: This position is located at a hydro-electric generating facility that includes hydropower, navigation, fish passage and recreational activities. The project spans the Columbia River near the town of Umatilla OR, approximately 10 miles N. of Hermiston, OR and 30 miles S. of Kennewick, WA, which are full service communities. There is a daily van pool from the Tri-Cities. Employees working at McNary Dam and living in the State of Washington are exempt from Oregon state tax. Responsibilities Process requisitions for ordering supplies, materials, spare parts and services including research for unusual, hard to find and urgent items. Ensure requisitions contain proper justification, authorization and funding source. Ensure mandatory government sources are used to obtain materials and services. Assist in developing and implementing local procedures for ordering with government purchase cards. Process receipt of procured items, verifying quantity and quality of received items. Prepare monthly accruals and monitor outstanding purchase obligations and commitments to ensure that excess amounts are reduced. Conduct annual personal property inventories. Usage of multiple software programs. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated supply systems to account for property, inventory control, supplies and equipment and performing inventory management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service at the GS-06 or equivalent .Depending on eligibility claimed, you may have one year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated systems to account for supplies and equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service at the GS-05 or equivalent. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Financial Management Manages Resources Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-5). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
