About the Job
DutiesYou will be responsible for the development and production of the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat system for all variants of US submarines and the RAN Collins Class submarine.You will manage and lead a combined industry and government team in the development of the AN/BYG-1 subsystems which comprise the AN/BYG-1 Combat System and for the production, integration and testing of those subsystems.You will be responsible for coordinating with the other Participating Acquisition Resource Mangers (PARMs) in the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS) program to ensure all software deliveries and testing are synchronized.You will be responsible for coordinating with both SWFTS and the TIH technology team to ensure software production and delivery schedules are aligned with Fleet Modernization timelines to support on time delivery to the warfighter.You will perform key decision-making and policy-developing responsibilities in support of program leadership.You will plan, develop, evaluate, and execute short- and long-range technical programs.You will establish work assignments to be accomplished by the employees.You will set priorities, prepare schedules for work completion, and ensure the timely performance of satisfactory work efforts.You will evaluate employee performance and recommend appropriate incentives.You will serve as a recognized expert consultant and authority to ensure reliability and accuracy in the identification, development and implementation of recommended solutions to highly complex problems.Requirements Conditions of EmploymentMust be a US Citizen.Must be determined suitable for federal employment.Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer providing engineering guidance in the design, development, modernization, or sustainment of combat or weapon systems for surface ships or submarines to ensure compliance with established specifications or requirements.

Successful completion of a professional engineering degree
To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico
