About the Job
Worthington Armstrong Venture is adding a Warehouse Supervisor to the team that will supervise the department to ensure warehouse and safety standards are met. Key results in this role include but are not limited to controlling of costs, maintaining training records and performance evaluations, and maintaining of safety records for the department, while supporting the production and logistics departments. The ideal candidate is an organized, analytical, problem-solver with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.

- Lead a safe working environment, supporting the company's 8-Step Safety Process
- Support and demonstrate the WAVE Philosophy and Operating Principles in all activities
- Apply lean methods (6S, kaizen, standard work, visual management) to specialty processes
- Set & track customer service (TCE), productivity, quality goals for specialty products & processes
- Lead by example, fostering a positive team atmosphere.
- Provide effective coaching, feedback, and encouragement to motivate the workforce
- Interview, hire, and train new associates
General Responsibilities:
- Oversee receiving and dispatching procedures for shipments
- Assign workloads and daily tasks to warehouse associates
- Communicate with customers to answer shipping and receiving questions and troubleshoot problems
- Monitor inventory and shipment transactions for accuracy
- Ensure inventory and storage areas are clean and well-maintained
- Monitor warehouse associates to ensure safety procedures are being followed when operating forklifts and other machinery
- Promote excellence in housekeeping, in areas involving specialty products & processes
Measures of Effectiveness:
- Safety Performance: OSHA recordable & lost time injuries, employee engagement
- Make all specialty product performance measurable, visible & timely
- Financial Performance: Direct and period expense control
- Productivity: Overtime, cycle counts
- TCE: MIPs, fill rate, shipping errors/damage, claims and customer complaints associated with specialty products
- Employee satisfaction: Employee satisfaction surveys
- Employee promises: Help, coach, and guide employees through their assigned annual promises
- Project Management Assignments such as lean directives or process improvement
Desired Experience:
- 1-3 years previous experience in leadership / supervisory role in manufacturing, supply chain, or warehouse environment required
- Must have forklift experience
- SAP and SCALE experience desired
- Familiarity with bookkeeping, inventory control practices and logistics
- Comfortable using inventory management software and other organizational computer applications
- Excellent listening, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient PC and Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to train, coach, and mentor warehouse associates.
- In-depth understanding of industry and company best practices for the warehouse
- Ability to multi-task several projects at the same time
- Strong analytical skills
- Must be able to interact with all levels of the organization
