Surgery Center Administrator
Location: Rio Rancho, NM
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dynamic and experienced Surgery Center Administrator to join our partner medical facility in Rio Rancho, NM. This is a key leadership role that requires a dedicated individual with a strong background in healthcare administration and a passion for providing exceptional surgical services.
Responsibilities & Expectations
- Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the surgery center, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of surgical services that exceed patient expectations.
- Leadership & Liaison: Serve as a key liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, and all departments within the facility. Report on facility activities to the Governing Board regularly.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Medical Director and Medical Executive Committee to evaluate and develop existing and new surgical services.
- Financial Management:
- Develop, monitor, and control the staffing needs, operations budget, and capital budget for the facility.
- Closely monitor variations in the financial performance of the facility to avoid cash flow problems.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and manage all external contracts, including physician agreements, ancillary services, and purchasing agreements.
- Personnel Administration: Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions for all staff. Foster a positive work environment and promote professional development opportunities.
- Clinical Services: Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards for surgical programs and clinical services.
- Quality Improvement: Develop, evaluate, and implement a continuous quality improvement program.
- Medical Staff Relationships: Process practitioner credentialing, collaborate with the Medical Director on bylaws and regulations, and foster positive relationships between employees and practitioners.
- Sales & Marketing: Develop and implement a sales/marketing plan and lead the facility's sales team.
- Administrative Representation: Attend corporate meetings and represent the facility's interests.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Must have Surgery Center or Outpatient Surgery Leadership experience.
- 5+ years of progressive management experience in a healthcare setting, including financial management, operations, and staff supervision.
Skills and Certifications:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
- Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards for ambulatory surgery centers.
