About the Job
Supports the department of Surgical Services Scheduling in the coordination of the scheduling activities. Additional responsibilities include the provision of organizational, and communication skills necessary to facilitate the flow of scheduling activities. These responsibilities include coordination of scheduling procedures and acts as a communication resource to patients, visitors, physicians, staff and ancillary personnel. Responsible for the maintenance of surgical records, order entry functions, and orientation/training of new personnel and collaboration with the healthcare team towards achieving fiscal and quality care goals and of outcomes for the divisions within surgical services. The position also supports the Scheduling Coordinator in the implementation of Surgical Services scheduling activities. Examples of duties include:
- Communication to facilitate patient care delivery and unit efficiency
- Performs daily scheduling activities
- Knowledge of CHESS system
- Maintain surgery/departmental schedules
- Completes daily charges and logging activities
- This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Center and AHMC Inc. Six months health care experience scheduling required. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for staff with strong education and associated experiential background
Expertise with computer systems and word processing
Typing skills required
Proficient medical terminology
