Surgical Certified First Assistant, Shea Orthopedics, Multiple locations, First shift - UofL Health

Overview

The certified surgical first assistant employed by the operating room will be assigned to first assist physicians in surgery performing specific tasks under the supervision of the physician.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or GED/Equivalent (required)
• A graduate of an accredited Operating Room Technician Program (preferred)
• A graduate of a Surgical First Assist Program including full certification (preferred)

Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year first assisting experience (required)
• 3-5 years of surgical scrub technician experience (preferred)

Certification:

• Surgical First Assist Certification (required)

Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
