Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Northwest Portland is known for its specialty programs and clinical excellence. Legacy Good Samaritan features nationally renowned doctors in cancer care, kidney transplantations, neurology, ophthalmology, weight-loss surgery, robotic surgery, rehabilitation and more, plus Oregon’s only urgent care located alongside an emergency room, with access to emergency care if needed.
Responsibilities:Has independent responsibility for all core duties and procedures. Responsible for knowledge and maintenance of sterile technique. Provides supplies and instruments as requested per surgeon’s preference cards, operative procedure and nursing personnel. Responsible for maintaining accurate delivery of instruments and supplies, and maintaining effective relationships with Materials Services and other OR personnel.
Qualifications:Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Two years of Surgical experience, such as Surgical Aide or Central Sterile Tech required.
Skills: Understands and practices the principles and methods of sterilization. Understands the importance of infection control and practices good aseptic techniques. Understands the importance of documentation. Thorough knowledge of instruments and scopes. Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone etiquette.
