Location: Brattleboro, VT
Shift Type: 8-hour or 10-hour shifts (Full-time)
On Call Requirements: Yes
Salary: $29/hour (dependent on experienceplease submit candidates with reasonable salary expectations)
Job Summary:
Surgical Technologists play a vital role as part of the surgical care team, working under the supervision of a surgeon to ensure safe and effective surgeries. They are responsible for maintaining the operating room environment, ensuring equipment functions correctly, and conducting procedures in a sterile and aseptic manner. Surgical technologists assist in a variety of surgeries and are crucial in ensuring patient safety throughout invasive surgical procedures.
Current service lines include:
- Orthopedics (active Total Joint Program)
- Endoscopy
- General Surgery
- Ob-Gyn
- Ophthalmology (Cataracts)
- Urology
- Podiatry
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons during invasive procedures by providing tools and maintaining sterile environments
- Ensure operating room safety and equipment functionality
- Apply sterile and aseptic techniques to safeguard patient health
- Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver optimal patient outcomes
- Manage surgical instruments and tools, ensuring they are sterile and ready for use
- Monitor and maintain sterile fields during surgeries
- Work across various service lines, including orthopedics, general surgery, and more
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent Required
- Completion of a surgical technology course, certificate program, or comparable experience Required
- 1-2 years of recent OR scrub experience Required
- Certification from the Association of Surgical Technologists Preferred (must obtain within 18 months of hire)
- CPR Certification Required
- At least 2 recent supervisory references Required
- Emphasis on orthopedic experience is highly preferred
