Job Summary and Qualifications

• Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs
• Assists with patient care needs, to include transport of patients, in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and members of the health care team 
• Assists as a member of the surgical team in patient positioning, supply readiness and location Individualizes pre-op, intra-op, and post-op planning and preparation to meet the needs of each patient 
• Provides terminal cleaning and between case preparation and understands technical requirements of cases and required room arrangements 
• Facilitates smooth and efficient transitions between surgical procedures 
• Maintains clean, safe environment and adheres to aseptic principles 
• Participates in lean 5s activities 
• Restocks unit supplies to maintain efficiency in the delivery of care 
• Recognizes when and how to escalate patient concerns up the chain of command 
• Prepares the surgical; suite/clinical area, supplies and equipment to ensure safety for patients and personnel 
• Assists with the surgical procedure 
• Participates in other routine duties as needed

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Currently enrolled in 2nd semester of an approved Surgical Tech program
