Hours/Week: 40
Shift Type:
- Primary Shift: 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM
- On-Call Requirements:
- 1 Saturday/Sunday per week: On-call from 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- 4 Weekday shifts per week: On-call from 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Holiday Requirement: No holidays
Certification Required: BLS (Basic Life Support)
Job Description:
Position Overview: The Surgical Technologist will provide essential support to the surgical team by preparing and maintaining the sterile field, assisting with surgical procedures, and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the operating room. This role involves a combination of regular shift work and on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:

Preparation and Sterilization:
- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, including sterilizing and arranging instruments and supplies.
- Ensure that all necessary equipment is functioning correctly and is available for use.

Assisting During Procedures:
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and performing other tasks as needed.
- Maintain a sterile environment throughout the procedure.

Patient Care:
- Position patients on the operating table and ensure their comfort and safety during the procedure.
- Monitor the patient’s condition and report any changes to the surgical team.

Post-Procedure Duties:
- Clean and restock the operating room after procedures.
- Assist with the transfer of patients to the recovery area.

On-Call Responsibilities:
- Respond to on-call assignments promptly and be prepared to work outside of regular hours as needed.
- Work Saturday/Sunday shifts and 4 additional on-call shifts during the week.
Requirements:
- Experience: Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
- Certification: Current BLS certification required.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in sterile techniques and surgical procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work on-call shifts, including nights and weekends.
