The Opportunity
The Survey CAD Technician (II or III, LSIT) will be able to prepare boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, subdivision plats, parcel and easement descriptions, and tree inventory surveys.
Work Location: Remote (can be hybrid or in-office if near an office location)
Pay Range: 30-42/hour, dependent on experience
The qualified candidate will:
- Efficiently plan and prepare CAD drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Perform research and gather data for new and ongoing projects
- Process and interpret survey data collected in the field
- Create and interpret 3D surface models
- Read and interpret property legal descriptions, easements, and plats
- Maintain and organize digital and paper survey records
- Collaborate with planners, project managers, and engineers regarding projects
- Interact daily with field crews and provide direction and support for ongoing projects
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of survey related AutoCAD Civil3D experience
- General knowledge of field survey procedures and equipment
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Earth Pro
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a land surveying related field and/or formal CAD training
- Land Surveyor In Training
- Experience with Trimble Business Center
- MicroStation and ArcGIS experience
- Previous survey field crew experience
- Understand construction plans and general construction principals
- Experience with aerial photo and lidar data processing and extraction (Part 107 pilot license)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment
- Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
