About the Job
KPFF Survey is actively recruiting for a full-time Survey Office Technician position in our Portland, OR office. Our typical projects include control, boundary, topographic, utility, ALTA, verification, and monitor surveying. We collect field data using the latest survey grade equipment, including conventional total stations, digital levels, GPS, 3D scanners, and drone lidar technology. We work with engineers, architects, landscape architects, developers, and public agencies. You may find yourself on a project in downtown Portland one day, followed by something in remote eastern Oregon, and beyond.
The successful candidate will work with and support the survey team to deliver projects completed safely, accurately, and professionally. Experienced and licensed individuals will actively work with you to further your career path in Land Surveying where you will analyze and process different sets of data, draft, manage projects, and prepare yourself to become a licensed Professional Land Surveyor.
Individuals already working as an office technician are encouraged to apply but those with multiple years of field experience looking to transition into an office role will be considered. Pay is dependent upon experience ($23-$36/hour).
Qualifications + Requirements
- Current experience in field data collection and in the industry for 1-2 years
- Current experience in field data processing, analysis, review, and drafting and in the industry for 1-2 years
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Add value in a fast-paced team environment
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening may be a requirement to participate in specific projects
- Travel may be required and can vary between 3-5% depending on the project, but you can expect to be home on weekends
- Must possess a valid driver's license

The Portland Civil + Survey office (including Eugene and Washington DC staff) consists of 105 employees including 41 Professional Engineers (PE) and 3 Professional Land Surveyors (PLS).
