About the Job
The Resource is seeking a Survey Project Manager for our client in Roanoke, VA. This is a permanent, Direct-Hire opportunity that offers a salary range of $72,000-$90,000 per year (depending on experience). The Survey Project Manager is responsible for the planning, processing, evaluation, quality control, documentation, reporting, platting and production of survey services and deliverables. Ideal candidates for this role have proficiency and broad knowledge of land surveying field work, data collection, and have the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, trigonometry, and geometry,. Responsibilities:
- Verifies the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations taken at surveying sites
- Directs or conducts surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties based on legal deeds and titles
- Prepares or supervises the preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to survey
- Coordinates findings with the work of the engineering and architectural personnel, clients and others concerned with the projects
- Trains assistants and helpers and directs their work in such activities as performing surveys or drafting maps
- Analyzes survey objectives and specifications to prepare survey proposals or to direct others in survey proposal preparation
- Develops criteria for survey methods and procedures
- Conducts research in surveying and mapping methods using knowledge of techniques of photogrammetric map compilation and electronic data processing
Qualifications:
- High school degree or the equivalent is required
- On track for professional licensure in Virginia (S.I.T. and L.S)
- Valid Virginia drivers license is required along with satisfactory driving record
- Progressive experience in the field of survey (survey instrument person, survey crew chief and / or survey CAD draftsperson, survey CAD technician)
- Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, trigonometry, and geometry
- Ability to carry out detailed instructions
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other discipline specific software; uses software effectively to complete work efficiently and accurately
- Has appropriate level of knowledge of office and survey equipment
