Summary/Objective

The service technician position serves customers by installing and servicing components, systems and products offsite at customer facility.

Essential Functions

1. Serves existing accounts by analyzing work orders; planning daily travel schedule; investigating complaints; conducting tests; resolving problems.
2. Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
3. Pick-up and safely transport goods, livestock, etc. to the intended destination
4. Ensure contents are properly secured in a truck, flatbed to prevent damage/injury
5. Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries
6. Comply with ICC and DOT regulations
7. Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests.
8. Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
9. Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
10. Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment

The service technician position performs their work offsite at our customer’s facilities so the work environments will vary as will any exposures to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites may be loud.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to Walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves continually during working hours. Is subject to lifting over 50 pounds.  This position can involve sitting for various periods of time, and also requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching throughout the day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend work is also necessary at times.

Travel

This position will require the individual to travel upon leader's request. 

Required Education and Experience

1. High school diploma and/or related associates degree.
2. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) required
3. Clean driving record with no moving violations
4. Must pass a background check and drug test
5. Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
6. Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
7. Physically and mentally fit
8. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
9. One to three years related experience and/or training.
10. Ability to read and interpret documents.
11. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.

Preferred Education and Experience

Manufacturing/industry experience.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance 

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
