Under supervision of the Swim Team Coordinator and Aquatics Coordinator, Swim Coaches provide direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for members of the Swim Team.
Minimum Qualifications:- Teaches swimming skills directly to at least one group of swimmers
- Ensures the safety of all participants
- Maintains a positive and friendly environment with encouragement, goal-setting and positive reinforcement
- Attends swim meets
- Provides excellent member service and maintains positive communications between coaches and swim team parents
- Comes prepared to all practices and meets
- Assists in supervising athletes at meets
- Enforces attendance and discipline policies for swimmers
- Assists in meet organization and preparation
- Attends team functions and meetings when necessary
- Ability to teach competitive swimming to a wide variety of age groups/skill levels
- At least 1 year of competitive swimming, coaching, and/or instructional experience
- A lifeguard certification is preferred but not required
