We are seeking an experienced Swing Stage Scaffold Superintendent to lead scaffold operations in Phoenix, AZ, with occasional travel to nearby states, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely.
Position Overview
As a Swing Stage Scaffold Superintendent, you will be the key point of contact for clients on scaffold projects. You will oversee all aspects of scaffold operations, ensuring that the team adheres to safety protocols and project specifications. Your leadership will be essential in coordinating activities among team members, managing material inventories, and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. This role is crucial for fostering a culture of safety and excellence within the organization.
Responsibilities of a Swing Stage Scaffold Superintendent
- Client Communication: Engage directly with clients regarding scaffold projects, addressing inquiries and providing updates on project progress. Your ability to build strong relationships will enhance client satisfaction and project success.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the scaffold team while reporting to the Operations Manager or Scaffold Project Manager. Your guidance will be instrumental in ensuring team members are trained, engaged, and performing at their best.
- Documentation Preparation: Supervise on-site documentation processes, including sign-offs, work authorizations, pickup tickets, Job Safety Environmental Analysis (JSEA), and safety plans. Accurate documentation is vital for compliance and accountability.
- Hands-On Supervision: Be prepared to work "on your tools" as needed to support operations. This hands-on approach will demonstrate your commitment to the team and ensure high standards are maintained.
- Material Management: Maintain and manage scaffold material inventories, coordinating timely deliveries and returns. Effective inventory management will minimize downtime and ensure that projects proceed smoothly.
- Erection and Dismantling: Supervise the erection and dismantling of various types of scaffolding, including System Scaffold and Tube & Clamp. Your expertise will ensure that all installations meet safety standards and project requirements.
- Inspections: Conduct daily scaffold inspections, material inspections, and perform minor maintenance to identify potential issues before they impact operations. Regular inspections are crucial for maintaining safety and compliance.
- Safety Observations: Conduct behavioral-based safety observations to foster a safe working environment. Encourage a culture of safety by actively addressing unsafe practices and promoting best practices among the team.
- High-Altitude Work: Climb and work in high places exceeding 200 feet as required. Your comfort with heights and focus on safety will be essential in executing projects effectively.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a superintendent or foreman in swing stage scaffolding is required. Proven expertise in swing stage operations and installation is essential.
- Knowledge of Safety Standards: Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards is critical for maintaining compliance on job sites.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are necessary to effectively guide the team and address project challenges.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction documents is essential for ensuring proper scaffold installation.
