We are currently hiring a full time VoIP / Switch Technician to join our customer's team out of Las Vegas, NV.
Location: The position will be located in Clark County and will support Nellis AFB and Creech AFB. This position will be 100% onsite. Local candidates preferred and relocation assistance will not be offered for this position.
Compensation: This work will fall under both non-prevailing wage work and the Service Contract Act (SCA). If the work/taskings fall under SCA, the hourly will be in accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA. The Service Contract Act wage determination is $30.43 per hour . In addition to your base hourly, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. Per the SCA a health and welfare payment is only paid out on or up to 40 hours and overtime and double time hours aren't eligible for a health and welfare payment. For non-prevailing wage work/taskings the base hourly rate is $33.43 to $38.43 depending on experience.
Job Overview:
Programs and maintains the Avaya Aura Communication Manager CM 10 located at Nellis AFB and Creech AFB, Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) switches, Enhanced 911 (E911) system, telephone system switches, ISP systems, network cabling, trunk systems, and all associated equipment. Performs telephone, voice mail, and voice protection system maintenance, repair and system outages.
Responsible for management; administration and maintenance; performing software functions (i.e. number reclamation) and translations for trunk or circuit of configurations required by on-base systems or users; data administration; trouble assistance; new circuit boards, and records administration. P erform PMIs on the VoIP, voice switching and power systems per established monthly/quarterly schedules.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain the AVAYA CM 10, IAW Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) procedures.
- Tracking STIG compliance
- Apply OEM Patches, MUDG, and IO Controls
- Perform OEM PMIs and documentation
- Perform system/Data Administration on all equipment and software associated with the Base communications.
- Perform adds, moves, changes, deletes, and query of a circuit or system data.
- Services orders, trouble assistance, and records administration.
- Performing necessary work to connect, disconnect, reconnect, test, repair and maintain customer provided voice and data equipment.
- Performing diagnostic tests.
- Interpreting and completing service work orders.
- Keeping detailed written record of all work activity and changes (PMI, trouble tickets and work orders).
- Evaluate customer communication needs and perform technical solution.
- Keep customer fully informed of all work activity and especially any planned outage of customers system.
- Identify and schedule meeting with individual customer to determination requirements on, if necessary, perform a walk-through the proposed work site to ensure understanding of the work to be performed
- OEM or service school certified training on the Avaya CM 10 Required
- Avaya Aura Core Components Integration (7120x)
- Avaya Aura Core Components Support (7200x)
- Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience on the Avaya CM 10 or a comparable system.
- Must follow established safety practices and guidelines.
- Must be familiar with all NEC Grounding practices.
- Must understand requirement of EIA/TIA 568 A & B.
- Understanding of structured cable systems, associated termination equipment, test equipment, industry testing standards and industry approved test procedures.
- Understand fiber optic splicing techniques and be able to attach connectors to fiber optic cable and splice inside and outside fiber cables.
- Be able to perform test procedures on fiber and copper cable, analyze test results, and certify results to industry standards.
- Be technically competent to problem-solve cable systems not meeting industry standard test results and provide remediation recommendations.
- Knowledge updating TMS, CAIRS, CIPS/CVC, EITaas/Service Now records a plus
- Successful candidates will be subject to maintain a valid driver's license.
- Successful candidates will be subject to complete and maintain a favorable Tier 3 (NACLC & ANACI) Government Secret Security Clearance and to include a favorable Tier 1 (formerly known as a National Agency Check Inquiries (NACI) background check and associative suitability.
- Successful candidates will be subject to complete and maintain a successful completion of background check, drug screen and MVR.
- Must follow established safety practices and guidelines.
- Must be flexible and able to work from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Must be punctual and available to travel when necessary.
- Must have the ability to possess excellent communication skills and the ability to write, speak and communicate fluent English.
- Work in confined spaces (manhole/handholes), climbing and working aloft.
- Moving and lifting items such as ladders, tools, test equipment and cable reels.
- Performing light digging.
- Accurately locate, stake, and mark cable of encased or direct buried conduits/cable
- Must be able to sit, stand, stoop and bend for extended periods of time.
- Must have dexterity of hands, fingers, and arms to reach, climb or balance and to operate power tools, controls and handle other specific tools or equipment.
- Must have ability to climb ladder, scaffolding or be transported by lifts.
- Must have the ability to drive/operate a vehicle in a safe manner.
- Must be able to regularly lift and transport up to 50 pounds, as well as frequently lift and or transport moderately heavy equipment up to 70 pounds.
- Must have the ability to move from place to place within the work environment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
