About the Job
Security Infrastructure Group (SIG), the Systems Administrator (SA) is responsible for maintaining the network based DSX Access Control Systems server and associated equipment. The SA is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of DSX Systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. The SA works within the MTC SIG, a subdivision of JISD, as an integral part of SIG under the direct supervision of the Assistant Chief Information Officer (ACIO). The SA is responsible for providing overall support and direction for the security network as a DSX System Administrator. The SA also provides support to the SIG to advise all court officials on all matters concerning security systems design and installation for new and existing building requirements. The SA regularly informs the ACIO of changing conditions surrounding security systems throughout the MTC and communicates to SIG any changes in system operations to ensure the safety and security of the courts.

Responsibilities
- The SA is responsible for effective provisioning, installation /configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
- Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
- Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values as set forth by the MTC Security Department.
- Is accountable for the following systems: DSX and Windows systems that support GIS infrastructure; Windows Server and Application systems that support Work Order Asset Management; Responsibilities on these systems include engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation.
- Ability to commission and certify new DSX Access Control System installations
- Perform annual inspections and preventative maintenance on DSX Server, workstations, and access related equipment.
- Assists in the development and implementation of Access Control Systems security policies and maintaining adherence to security best practices.
- Assists in the development of plans and contingencies for addressing physical access issues to courthouses and other related special needs.
- Works with the ACIO and other members of SIG to prioritize the implementation of security initiatives and appropriate security investments based on appropriate risk assessment within the MTC courthouses.
- Researches and makes use of the best available practices and security technologies to ensure safety within all courthouses.
- Participates in incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches.
- Works closely with SIG and JISD relating to the installation and maintenance of information technology hardware and security network servers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with persons at all levels, including judges and court staff, and to maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to travel to MTC courts and other locations throughout the Commonwealth.*

Qualifications
These are the minimum requirements necessary to apply for the position of Systems Administrator:
- Associates degree from an accredited college or technical institute with concentration in
- Three (3) years of security systems management experience in access control programming and/or Systems Administrator or an equivalent combination of education and security-related experience.
- DSX Certified
- 5-8 years of experience with DSX Access Controlled System in the installing, configuring, programming, and maintaining of said systems.
- Experience with TCP/IP and familiar with other protocol stacks.
- Proficient with managing and implementing security projects; new implementations, upgrades, troubleshooting, R&D, requirements analysis, and vendor selections.
- Must be able to read blueprints, specifications, and contract documents as well as oversee installing contractors to ensure quality and code compliant system installations.
- Other requirements related to the Support and expansion of production environments, engaging in JISD operations, infrastructure design, implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, consultation, and vendor management, are preferred.
- Operational knowledge of and experience in computer driven complex security systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the design, installation, programming, and maintenance Access Control Systems and the interface of these systems as part of an integrated and comprehensive security plan for a large facility.
