Job Summary:
This role is responsible for the implementation, ongoing support, maintenance, patch management, performance monitoring, and overall uptime of the network and server infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Design and Support: Design, implement, and provide ongoing support for the network, including Cisco switches, wireless devices, and Juniper firewalls.
- Server Support: Oversee both physical and virtual server environments (VMware), ensuring smooth operation and timely issue resolution.
- Server Applications Support: Maintain and support server-based applications, such as Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory/DNS, System Center Configuration Manager (CM), and various business-critical applications.
- Escalation Point: Serve as an escalation point for IT Specialists, assisting in resolving complex network issues and providing basic training to junior team members.
- Documentation Management: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all network and server infrastructure implementations, including updates for existing systems.
- Hardware and Software Management: Manage the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of workstation and network hardware, including PCs, printers, and scanners, as well as specific software.
- Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact with network vendors, working to resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
- System Installation: Oversee the installation of hardware and software systems, including updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure the systems are up-to-date and secure.
- System Analysis and Troubleshooting: Collaborate with system users to analyze workflows, identify issues, and develop tailored solutions for specific system requirements.
- Training Coordination: Lead initial and ongoing training programs for staff regarding system hardware and software, ensuring that users understand how to effectively utilize IT resources.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain security protocols for system access, monitor network security, and address any security threats or breaches proactively.
- Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- User Support and Feedback: Manage user expectations, gather feedback on network performance, and work on continuous network improvements.
- Software Licensing and Asset Management: Oversee software licensing compliance, monitor software distribution, and maintain accurate asset management records.
- Help Desk Support: Provide Level-2 support to the Help Desk team and system users, including administration and management personnel, ensuring timely resolution of IT issues.
- Ongoing IT Support: Provide technical assistance, training, and guidance to fellow Information Systems team members and end users, establishing best practices for network utilization.
- On-Call Support: Provide on-call and standby support as required, ensuring prompt response to any urgent network issues or system failures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and other relevant compliance requirements, by staying informed on legislative changes and advising management on necessary actions.
- Confidentiality and Data Integrity: Maintain the confidentiality and security of patient information in line with HIPAA regulations, ensuring appropriate access and use of sensitive data.
- Compliance with Corporate Policies: Follow corporate compliance policies, report violations, and seek training as necessary to uphold ethical standards.
- Workplace Conduct: Adhere to established work hours and breaks, demonstrate respect for colleagues, and minimize personal distractions during work hours.
- Travel Requirements: Primarily local travel during business hours, with occasional out-of-area or overnight travel as needed.

Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree in Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in network and server infrastructure support (additional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of networking principles, server and workstation support, and security practices. Capable of designing, installing, managing, and maintaining network systems.
- IT Proficiency: Familiarity with a wide range of computer systems, data storage solutions, reporting tools, and information management principles.
- Adaptability: Quick to learn new technical concepts and technologies; able to stay current with industry trends and advancements.
- Problem Solving and Initiative: Demonstrates strong analytical skills, creativity, and attention to detail while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally. Skilled at generating and maintaining documentation.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience providing network/server infrastructure support in a corporate setting.
