One of our fabulous clients in the financial industry in San Antonio, TX is looking for a Systems Administrator! This role will be direct hire, 100% onsite, M-F, 8:30-5PM. This company offers great benefits, PTO and the starting salary for the role is $75K annually. As part of the screening proces, a background check and drug screen will be required.
The System Administrator provides day to-day administration of the systems through the research, development and testing of software; project implementation; coordination and implementation of software upgrades to network fileservers and personal computer workstations; troubleshoots network communications; completes all aspects of network user setup; manages inventory of network hardware and software; maintains records for software licenses and maintenance agreements; and maintains the integrity and security of the networks.
Responsibilities:- Day-to-day administration of all network servers, devices and communication equipment to include maintaining daily log of server performance and resolving known issues; timely support of client and server applications, hardware and equipment; completes hardware diagnostics and coordinates resolutions; develops and maintains client and server scripts; troubleshoots and maintains switches; and manages IP-based phone system.
- Serves as the contact for all data processing or network communication problems; researches issues; advises the AVP Tech Innovation and Integration and/or Network Support Manager of problems and provides anticipated length of down-time; and coordinates and resolves communication problems with vendors.
- Performs all network server maintenance to include, user setup, password protection, backups, restores, user security, trustee assignments, and system broadcasts; and maintains consistency in normal and batch file naming conventions, network housekeeping and sub-directory layouts.
- Tracks and maintains outstanding network device and communication issues; researches, reports and coordinates unresolved issues with network software and hardware vendors; requests service regarding network software, hardware and system products; ensures resolution to outstanding service calls and make recommendations for systems modifications.
- Analyzes needs, researches, evaluates, recommends, develops, tests, coordinates and implements all software patches and upgrades to the client workstations and server applications as well as recommends client and server applications and hardware that best meets the needs of the credit union.
- Provides assistance to the AVP Tech Innovation and Integration and/or Network Support Manager with the management and implementation of the WAN/LAN communication links to the systems and branches.
- Provides highly responsive support to users, to include diagnoses of software, hardware, and peripheral device problems through recognition, research, isolation and resolution steps.
- Answers user questions by applying knowledge of computer software, hardware, peripheral devices, network protocol, and procedures.
- Maintains knowledge of appropriate technology through research, training and professional publications.
- Tests software, hardware, and programs to evaluate ease of use and whether product will aid user in performing work. Assists with implementation of software, hardware, and program upgrades.
- Researches alternate approaches to existing software and hardware when standardized approaches cannot be applied.
- Installs personal computers, software, hardware, peripherals and components, as needed.
- Assists with the development of departmental procedures.
- Develops a working knowledge of other departments’ job functions and support requirements.
- Provides backup to all other department employees, as needed.
- Participates in on call rotation.
- Monitors, analyzes, and assesses security vulnerabilities in systems and networks.
- Implements and maintains security controls to mitigate risks.
- Performs other duties, as required.
- A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors or job-specified skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
- 1-3 Years of experience or similar experience required.
- Must have ability to recognize and troubleshoot client and server applications, hardware, communications and telephone equipment problems.
- Must have experience loading and configuring various client and server applications in a Windows Server environment.
- Must have a thorough understanding of technical principals, theories and concepts of Microsoft SUS, Microsoft 365, Windows Server Operating Systems, SAN, AIX, Citrix, Exchange management, VMWare, Firewall, Antivirus, Wi-Fi, and Windows client operating systems with a logical approach to problem resolution.
