About the Job
Graham Technologies is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to work at our Scott AFB, ILL customer site. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in systems administration, including managing and maintaining servers, networks, and IT infrastructure in a secure environment. The System Administrator will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems that support core organizational functions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain server and network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, conducting regular system maintenance and updates.
- Implement and maintain security protocols and procedures to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with security policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, supporting end-users as needed.
- Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and recovery processes are in place.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and implement new IT solutions and enhancements.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in system administration and security.
- Define and document best practices and support procedures
- Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well as occasional weekend maintenance
- Assist with hardware, firewall, telecom, and software vendor evaluation, recommendation and negotiation
Qualifications:
- Active Secret clearance is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least three years of experience in system administration, focusing on managing servers and networks in a secure environment.
- Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux, and Unix.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
- Experience implementing and maintaining security protocols, including patch management, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or similar.
- Experience with cloud platform AWS.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Experience in a government or defense contracting environment.
