Job Title: System Design Engineer
Position Type: Full Time Exempt

Direct Supervisor: Manager of Technical Design
Job Summary: The unique department is growing with the need for a talented and experienced System Design Engineer who has a background in the design of home automation systems. The position is in-office located in North Miami with some local area travel.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with new and existing clients for initial and continued consultations regarding their feature requests both architectural and technological.
- Complete necessary paperwork associated with the design and deployment process including initial system design notes, creation of CAD related drawings and creation of system bill of materials through iPoint.
- Assist in the creation of CAD drawings and architectural design documents.
- Assist in the creation of full system wiring connection schematics using MS Office Visio.
- Support the design team with AV and lighting design tasks.
- Help prepare detailed elevations and design guidelines for installation teams.
- Site visits confirming the coordination of plans set to field deployment are expected to be completed on an as needed basis.
- Upgrade abilities and proficiency by independently learning the skills of the trade supported by the guidance of the team leader.
- It is expected that professionalism and courtesy will be expressed to all team members & clients at all times in both spoken and written forms of communication.
- Communicate via email and site visits with team members, clients and other trade professionals.
- While most projects are located in South Florida (Dade, Broward, & Palm Beach counties) there are times when travel will be required.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering design of home automation systems (Crestron, Savant and/or Lutron, etc.).
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Visio for creation of wiring connection schematics and Rack Builds.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for design.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid Drivers License and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
