Responsibilities
+ What You'll Do:
+ At V2X, we are making a difference by providing support to programs at NAVAIR. This office is responsible for research, development, acquisition, and sustainment of the Navy's Autonomous Aircraft program. We are looking for a Mid-Level System Safety Engineer to support the execution of Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) research and development (R&D) programs by assisting in the coordination of all technical activities of the program office in alignment with sponsor desires and sound engineering practices. This position is located on-site in Patuxent River, MD and requires the candidate to have an active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
+ Key Responsibilities:
+ Assisting the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) with program-level / cross-project technical guidance on system safety.
+ Interaction and program representation with numerous stakeholders and technical exchange forums.
+ Assessment of technical risk and mitigation alternatives in regard to system safety.
+ Tailoring of engineering standards and controls for appropriate technical oversight of technology efforts.
+ Creation and tracking of project technical transition criteria.
+ Other technical support duties as may arise from either the Program Lead or APMSE.
+ Minor (10%) travel is required for this position.
Qualifications
+ Minimum Qualifications:
+ Education:
+ Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
+ Experience:
+ At least seven (7) years of experience with DoD research and development (R&D) procurement.
+ Experience and working knowledge of System Safety Engineering, analysis, demonstration, and test.
+ Experience coordinating operations across multiple organizational boundaries.
+ Experience working in a dynamic, schedule constrained, and complex security environment.
+ Skill:
+ Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.
+ Other Requirement:
+ Active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
+ Software:
+ Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
+ Technology:
+ Personal computer, printer, copy machine and other general office equipment.
