The Systems Operation team provides around the clock monitoring, administration & escalation of all DE&E Technology infrastructure. Excellent up-time & availability of our platforms as it relates to internal teams, external teams & consumers is the core focus of the team.
DE&E Technology is responsible for The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer businesses globally, including the ESPN+ sports streaming service, programmed in conjunction with ESPN; Disney+, the Disney-branded direct-to-consumer streaming service; global advertising sales and ad technology for all of Disney’s media properties, including ABC, ESPN, Freeform, FX Networks, National Geographic, and the Disney Channels; HotStar, the leading over-the-top streaming service in India; and the Company’s majority ownership stake in Hulu.
Job Summary:
The Systems Administrator II is a front line technical resource for the Systems Operations team. This role’s primary responsibility is to monitor, triage, and resolve or escalate issues as necessary in a world class 24/7/365 production environment. The Systems Administrator II will monitor for issues and collaborate with teams to prevent or minimize impact of potential issues. They will achieve this by blending a strong set of troubleshooting skills with a strong understanding of our infrastructure and production pipelines.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
+ _Support in carrying out Operational tasks as assigned._
+ _Interacts and communicates with supervisor and peers. Receives and transmits routine information requiring some explanation or interpretation, to members of the team._
+ _Ability to resolve infrastructure operational issues with a moderate to high degree of complexity while following established procedures or analyzing data to diagnose and identify root causes, when necessary, to resolve issues or complete assignments._
+ _Communicate with internal contacts at a variety of organizational levels to diagnose, explain and resolve problems for both technical and non-technical audiences._
+ _support high profile events._
+ _Demonstrates a strong work ethic, initiative and the ability to aggressively and effectively troubleshoot problems and perform root cause analysis._
+ _Comfort working in a fast-paced, growth environment with minimal direction, delivering under tight deadlines while multitasking, prioritizing projects, and communicating priority updates to team members._
+ _Able to operate with limited resources, exhibit dispassionate critical-thinking, and creatively solve problems. Motivated and inventive, always finds a way forward—eternal optimist with a committed drive for contributing and making a difference._

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
_Minimum :_
+ _Three or more years of progressively complex related experience._
+ _This position requires overnight shifts, with availability for weekends and holidays as needed._
+ _Proactive thinker with strong problem solving skills._
+ _Experience with Linux (Installation, Configuration, Tuning)._
+ _Strong written and verbal skills_
+ _Strong troubleshooting skills._
+ _Excellent communication and interpersonal skills._
+ _Strong knowledge with scripting languages (BASH, Python,)._
+ _Strong experience with Ansible and Ansible Tower._
+ _Good understanding of security and networking concepts._
+ _Experience with IPMI tool_
+ _Experience utilizing infrastructure monitoring solutions. (Icinga, Zabbix)_
_Preferred :_
+ _Five or more years of infrastructure monitoring experience_
+ _BA/BS degree_
+ _Experience with Varnish caching_
+ _Experience with Icingaweb2 Interface._
+ _Experience with Zabbix web interface_
+ _Experience working in Datadog_
The hiring range for this position in Las Vegas is $82,900.00 to $111,100.00 per year, in Bristol, CT is $87,100.00 to $116,700.00 per year, in The Woodlands, TX is $82,900.00 to $111,100.00 per year, in New York City, NY is $91,200.00 to $122,200.00 per year and in Charlotte, NC is $82,900.00 to $111,100.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
