Position Overview:
The Business Optimization Systems and Solutions (BOSS) team is seeking a skilled IT Systems Engineer with DevOps experience to support various enterprise IT services. This role involves working with a team that develops Microsoft-based .NET custom web applications and supports multiple commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Business Intelligence solutions. You will oversee the full system lifecycle, from requirements definition and design to deployment and ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M). Ideal candidates will possess hands-on experience in IT system engineering, systems administration, and cybersecurity.
Primary Responsibilities:
This role is fully remote and is part of a small team of three within a larger organization of approximately 60 members. You will assist various customer software developments, collaborating with solution providers and integrating commercial projects. The workload involves managing around 70 applications across diverse projects.

You will oversee the full system lifecycle, from requirements definition and design to deployment and ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M). Ideal candidates will possess hands-on experience in IT system engineering, systems administration, and cybersecurity.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with software development, operations, security, and project teams to deliver enterprise services in AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Analyze requirements, design solutions, provision resources, install/configure services, and provide ongoing maintenance support.
- Deploy and manage custom Microsoft .NET web applications.
- Integrate and manage COTS and SaaS solutions.
- Complete security documentation, participate in security reviews, and address security vulnerabilities.
- Monitor system resources and key processes in real-time.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for products and services.
- Participate in on-call/after-hours support on a rotational basis.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years in System Engineering or System Administration. Additional relevant experience may substitute for degree requirements.
- Proficient in administering Windows Server operating systems (Linux experience is a plus).
- Strong skills in system performance monitoring and configuration management.
- Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of independently managing tasks and priorities.
- Experience with Microsoft Web Servers and Microsoft SQL.
- Familiarity with AWS or Azure for server and service management.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Azure DevOps Server, and DevOps pipelines.
- Knowledge of containerization tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
This role is fully remote and is part of a small team of three within a larger organization of approximately 60 members. Additional Notes:
- Candidates should be available for scheduled work on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 PM to 10 PM Eastern Time on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
- The role does not allow for more than 40 hours of work per week or 8 hours in a day for California candidates to avoid overtime.
- Initial phone interview with the Engagement Manager, followed by a second round via TEAMS with a small group.
- Expected timeline for candidate selection is ASAP following multiple interviews.
