Description
- Installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting WebLogic applications.- Insure proper monitoring of all environment URLs for availability.- Insure proper escalation and notification for each project.
- Additional familiarity with monitoring tools such as Introscope also required.- Troubleshoot and resolve Client Engagement Support issues.- Strengths should center on complex Linux/Windows based environments.
- Secondary skill sets should focus on Unix/Linux based environments.
- Must also be proficient tuning and troubleshooting problems related to Java, JGroups, JMS, and JDBC.- Handle day to day support activities that pop up and must be comfortable in working on production support incidents on a live call with several other support teams, making recommendations, escalating when necessary.
- Create/manage existing shell scripting in the application.
- Deploys the release of new technologies as well as designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of PC/server operating systems, related utilities and hardware
- Responsible for Troubleshooting server problems as reported by users
- Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products. Supports Web access and electronic messaging services and maintains a secure systems environment
- Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth, installs new servers and maintains the server infrastructure.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
- Typically has at least 5 years of IT work experience. Requires a high level of expertise in multiple system environments
- 7+ years of prior work experience in IT, including recent 3+ years of work experience with Oracle WebLogic, Apache Web Server in a production enterprise.
- Extensive experience in installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting WebLogic platforms in Virtual Windows and Unix (AIX, Solaris, Linux) environments.
- Extensive 24/7 Level 2 Support Experience in troubleshooting with at least one of the Oracle WebLogic (Application Server, Search Runtime Portal, Service registry and repository).- Extensive experience in tuning WebLogic for JVM, Threads, Connection Pools, Datasource's is a must.
- Ability to respond to critical issues, manage critical trouble tickets and drive towards permanent resolutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.Plus:
- Experience in migrating applications from development/test environments to production including customization.- Some DBA skills with Oracle 10g/11g.
- Active participation in infrastructure architecture, such as hardware sizing, effort estimation and security.
