Systems Administrator - Maguire

For over 100 years, Maguire has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining computer systems, network infrastructures, server infrastructures, documentation, and technology-based research and development. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate a history of performance and availability in systems they have managed as well as a reputation for anticipating and exceeding client expectations.
Essential Functions:
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, networks, and server infrastructures
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and resolve problems promptly
- Assist with developing and implementing security policies and procedures to prevent unauthorized access to our systems and networks
- Ensure that all systems and software are kept up to date with the latest patches and updates
- Manage user accounts and permissions -- including creating and deleting user accounts and setting up their access levels
- Create and maintain system documentation -- including diagrams and manuals
- Troubleshoot system failures and coordinate with vendor support teams to resolve issues
- Ensure backups of critical data are performed and disaster recovery plans are in place
- Manage Active Directory and Domain Name System (DNS) infrastructure
- Monitor network traffic and identify and mitigate security threats -- including viruses and malware
- Provide support -- including troubleshooting and training -- to company employees and clients

Qualifications:

- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in systems administration.
- Extensive knowledge of Windows and server operating systems
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare
- Strong understanding of networking technologies including TCP/IP, routing, and switching
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam
- Knowledge of MS Teams, Teams Rooms & Teams Phone
- Strong background in Remote Mgmt. tools and Endpoint protection
- In-depth understanding of security policies and procedures
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours when required
Additional Preferred:
- Familiarity with Infor’s Syteline / CSI ERP or similar
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, the SQL language, and database structures
- Familiarity with software version control
- Technical writing experience or training
- Technical illustration experience or training
- Willingness to provide support and training to external customers via phone, email, and occasionally on site visits
Work Environment:
- Majority of the time is spent in an office environment.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
