Systems Analyst - Public Works - City of Fort Myers, FL

Under the general direction of the Superintendent, the incumbent is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and reporting software programs. The programs include but are not limited to; Fleetboss Global Position System (GPS), Asset Management using Geographic Information System (GIS), Lift Station Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Work Orders System Software, KRONOS time keeping software, and Potable Water Leak Detection.  Work involves analysis of gathered data and providing the Superintendent of the necessary reports. Liaison with the City’s ITS Department as needed for effective execution of software functions. Work is performed with limited direction and considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the City’s policies and applicable laws if applicable. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities and Reporting During an Emergency Situation:

Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice.

Non Essential Employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee’s Department Head will determine when the employee will be required to work.
