Job Title: Systems Architect
Job Summary:
The Systems Architect is a part of the Project Controls & Management Information Systems (MIS) team. They are a problem solver, responsible for bridging the gap between real-world business problems and technological solutions. This role is key to establishing a foundation for growth through digital transformation, by developing, integrating, and implementing effective solutions that allow Sinacola to do more volume as efficiently and effectively as possible while reducing the administrative burden on the staff. The ideal candidate is a good listener with a strong understanding of basic business principles. They have are a highly skilled, technical expert who provides upper-level support and system maintenance to company applications to maintain high system availability, stability, and security.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works closely with Department Director who serves as Enterprise Architect to turn technological vision into effective implementation of integrated systems to support that vision.
- Works closely with Solutions Architect to translate proposed solutions into integrated systems while providing in-depth technical insight on matters of hardware and software specifics.
- High level of expertise with various developmental languages and the Power Automate suite to help design, create, and enhance solutions
- Provides support for all production applications including industry specific software such as the Sinacola Suite of PowerApps Solutions, Equipment 360, HeavyBid, Trimble Spectrum, PlanGrid, TicketPro, Connex, CommandBatch, and TrackIt as well as standard apps such as those in the Office365 Suite, etc.
- Works with IT Infrastructure team to monitor and tune servers and devices to ensure optimal operating system and application software performance.
- Recognizes and troubleshoots problems in conjunction with IT Infrastructure team to ensure server hardware, network connectivity and applications software are working optimally.
- Schedules and implements software installations and upgrades in conjunction with the IT Infrastructure team.
- Works with Project Controls & MIS team to establish, document, and publish standards and procedures for application software and related processes.
- Analyzes current systems and databases to ensure they align with business requirements.
- Analyzes trends in technology and how they apply to the construction industry.
- Monitors multiple projects and provides technical and administrative support; ensuring that management is apprised of the current status of active projects.
- Acts as a project leader for assigned projects.
- Follows, implements, and enforces all company-wide and IT specific policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Business, Mathematics or a minimum of four to six years of experience in Management Information Systems, Business Analysis, or Business Intelligence required.
- Database development experience for applications is required.
- Experience with Office365 (specifically SharePoint, Power Automate, PowerApps and PowerBI), data visualization, and flowcharting tools is required.
- Demonstrated experience procuring and developing technical solutions to business problems within the construction industry is a must.
- Experience with implementing webservices, APIs, and other data integration points to integrate applications required.
- Experience with Microsoft RDS (Remote Desktop Services) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, VBscript, PHP, JSON, Java, HTML, XML, Ruby, Python, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience with cloud file storage, on-premise storage integrations, SFTP/FTP, and mobile device file management in a BYOD environment a plus
- Experience with VMware Horizon VDI platform a plus
- Ability to work with IT Infrastructure team to devise server and network specifications and solutions to support applications and business needs.
- Technical understanding of internetworking architecture, and Internet / Web computing architectures is highly desirable.
