The Systems Architect will be responsible for interfacing with business units to understand their needs, working with various architecture and development teams to create a solution to the business need utilizing application and services infrastructure, and then working with impacted development and testing team(s) to ensure successful delivery of the proposed solution. Projects will include working with business needs for Metro/National Ethernet Services and other emerging technologies.

Scope

Projects will include working with business needs for Metro/National Ethernet Services and other emerging technologies.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing senior level expertise on decisions and priorities regarding the enterprise's overall systems architecture.
- Facilitates the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems and applications across the enterprise.
- Reviews, advises and designs standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs versus benefits and impact on the enterprise business process and goals.
- Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards.
- Assists in the development of and manages an architecture governance process.
- Provides technical guidance to project team areas as appropriate.
- Tracks industry trends and maintains knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise's architecture needs.
Required Skills/Experience
- Solutions Designers or Architects or a Business/System Analyst with a background in architecture
- Extensive Telecommunications industry experience
- Prior experience surrounding Ethernet and IP Service (IE Private Line, Private LAN, Dedicated Internet, IPVLN)
- Extensive BSS/OSS experience
- Design experience within the BSS domain Order Entry/Management, Provisioning & Activation
- Design experience surrounding the OSS Domain (CARE, OPS Service Level Fault & Performance Management)
- Requirements gathering techniques
- System requirement analysis
- Proficiency in documenting Use Cases, Requirements, Activity Diagrams, Architecture Diagramming and Sequence Diagrams in a technical environment
- Experience facilitating JAD sessions
- Understanding of SOA and experience writing requirements in a SOA environment
- Test planning/execution
- Advanced proficiency with use of Microsoft Office applications including, Word, MS Project, Excel and Visio and other tools that facilitate the requirements gathering and design phases of the SDLC
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
