Summary:
The Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in the implementation and maintenance of production networking systems across North American Body Weld shops. This is a hybrid role that requires a mix of on-site presence (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and remote work. The position involves traveling to various plants, including Canada, and Mexico as required, typically over weekends, with trips lasting up to a week and a half.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Implementation: Manage the implementation of production networking systems (Andon, PIF, and IoE) at North America Body Weld shops.
- Project Management: Schedule, budget, and execute implementations at North American Manufacturing Centers (NAMCs), collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to meet business needs.
- PLC Programming: Program and configure PLCs, specifically Toyopuc and Omron.
- Server Management: Set up, configure, and provide long-term support for servers running applications such as Kepware and Client Cimplicity.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal Innovation Teams and external partners to support project initiatives and solve complex problems.
- Documentation: Author standards, policies, procedures, technical memos, and manuals.
- Presentation: Showcase the team's efforts and accomplishments through presentations to peers and executive management.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Industrial Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience:
- Project management experience.
- Experience in deploying industrial network-connected devices.
- Experience with SQL Database operations.
- Experience with Toyopuc PLC programming.
- Experience with Kepware and Client Cimplicity software.
- Relevant manufacturing work experience.
- Skills:
- The candidate must possess strong hands-on experience, including project management and site visits, and be willing to perform duties beyond desk work, such as on-site evaluations and system installations.
- Ability to work weekends, holiday periods, and shutdown periods to support modifications and installation projects.
- Ability to work overtime to meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Body Weld experience.
- Experience with Omron PLC programming.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, VB.Net, BCL, SQL).
- Knowledge of data analytics software (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).
- Experience with robotics and industrial controls.
- Do you have experience programming PLCs, particularly with Toyopuc or Omron systems? If not, do you have coding experience and are willing to learn PLC programming?
- Are you comfortable with a hybrid work schedule that requires on-site presence three days a week and occasional travel, including weekend trips to TMMI, TMMK, Canada, and Mexico?
