Job Title: Systems Engineer II
Location: Atlanta, GA
Visa Requirements: USC/GC only
Onsite Requirements: Need to be local to the Atlanta Metropolitan Area in order to have key company locations. Onsite 1-2 days per week; may have to travel twice per month.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, communicate, and enforce systems standards, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in infrastructure architecture reviews and technology/service evaluations.
- Perform detailed designs of new or changing infrastructure environments.
- Install, configure, maintain, and replace new equipment (e.g., compute devices, power supplies, cameras, wiring, etc.).
- Conduct multiple levels of testing prior to release of new and upgraded systems, products, or services.
- Evaluate and design new solutions utilizing existing standards and new technologies.
- Develop roadmaps to guide infrastructure strategy.
- Perform root cause analysis, resolve problems, and recommend solutions.
- Establish guidelines and standards for capacity management review and network/telecom systems operations.
- Monitor and plan capacity of all hosting environments for future growth.
- Analyze system performance and provide preventative maintenance for maximum availability of physical and virtual servers.
- Work towards providing a fully redundant high availability infrastructure.
- Develop best practices for maintaining and administering operating environments.
- Perform warranty tracking and maintenance.
- Ensure backup and recovery plans are tested regularly, and backup and recovery procedures are implemented.
- Perform business continuity and disaster recovery testing.
- Develop automation scripts and programs to streamline manual operations and reduce manpower requirements.
- Perform troubleshooting and issue resolution, escalating issues to appropriate third-party vendors if needed.
- Provide technical support and consultation to colleagues and customers as needed.
Must-Have Skills and Experience:
- Experience with wiring within a device.
- Ability to follow schematics and architecture flows.
- Ability to troubleshoot and understand issues, searching through knowledge bases and conducting research.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact well with team members.
- Working experience with power/electrical, wiring/cabling, and wireless/mobile technologies.
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field desired.
- 2-5 years of working experience with computer components, electrical/wiring platforms, etc.
- Progressive experience in systems engineering.
- Experience with systems applications and hardware, operating platforms, and internet and web applications.
- Proficiency in writing and maintaining MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents.
- Experience leading project-oriented work.
- Experience in construction.
- Willingness to travel 40% or more of the time.
Job Description:
The Systems Engineer II designs, installs, configures, implements, and supports all aspects of infrastructure environments. This role provides technical guidance and oversight, acting as a point of escalation and technical support. The position exhibits autonomy, working under general direction and using discretion in identifying and responding to complex issues. The role involves interacting with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and partners, sometimes supervising others or making decisions impacting project phases. The successful candidate will apply a methodical approach to issue definition and resolution, demonstrate effective communication skills, contribute fully to team efforts, and plan and monitor work within deadlines.
Skills:
- Install or remove hardware/software, conduct tests, correct malfunctions, and document results.
- Contribute to availability management tasks and ensure services/components meet performance targets.
- Implement disaster recovery arrangements and conduct testing of recovery procedures.
- Monitor service delivery performance metrics and liaise with managers/customers.
- Identify and resolve network problems using network management software/tools and perform network maintenance tasks.
