Description/Comment: SCOM
Applicant develops, maintains and supports Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2012 R2 infrastructure. These responsibilities include authoring management packs, automating agent (Window\UNIX\Linux) installations and implementing SCOM infrastructure improvements in order to effectively monitor Home Depot data centers, stores and distribution centers. The ideal candidate can will be able to demonstrate technical proficiency in leveraging SCOM 2012 to monitor large distributed environments.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
SCCM 2007/2012 deployment and infrastructure knowledge including troubleshooting experience. Full understanding of SCCM 2007, 2012 Hierarchy including troubleshooting Ability to create Advertisement/Collections/Packages/Applications within an SCCM 2007/2012 environment. Understanding of setup/use/troubleshooting of software deployment "Maintenance Windows”. Full understanding of downloading and deploying Software Updates within SCCM 2007/2012. Understanding of Operating System Deployment in SCCM 2007/2012. Reporting with Systems Management Center Systems Management Server or SCCM 2007/2012. Scripting experience Deployment experience roll-out/waves Reporting experience with the SCCM database Evaluate alternatives for deploying and supporting applications in a managed environment. Provide 3rd level support for desktop support. Evaluates current procedures and processes for accomplishing department objectives and continuously develops and implements improved practices. Consults with customers regularly to identify needs, develop and implement proposals. Develops and maintains effective relationships with customers. Familiar with Change Management/ITIL/ITSM. Responsible for proper escalation, communications, and management of production system problems. Other duties as assigned. MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY - •Perform installation, maintenance and support of system software, hardware and infrastructure and user support for moderately complex projects. May oversee this effort if acting in team lead capacity. •Perform store & SSC engineering and roll-out implementation. •Perform configuration, debugging and support for infrastructure platform for moderately complex projects. •Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create preventative measures. •Provide technical direction to System and Associate Engineers, Operations Specialists, and contractors. •Interface with Business Stakeholders on all applicable projects. Update manager on all escalated issues. •Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills
• 3-4+ years of experience of Administration, Managing and Troubleshooting with SCCM/SMS
Understanding of all standard operating systems (Windows, including LINUX/UNIX)
Experience with Microsoft SCCM/SMS, OSD, Task Sequences, Microsoft Updates.
Experience with scripting languages to automate tasks (i.e. Powershell, VBScript, Batch Files)
Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good interpersonal skills: gets along well with others.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Shares knowledge readily and recognizes own need to learn
