Position Summary:
The System Engineer is responsible for implementing, securing and maintaining AEG's Information Technology (IT) with a focus on physical, virtual and cloud compute environments. The System Engineer will work closely with various team members to develop, deploy and implement Information Technology Services, best practices, standards, and operational efficiencies based on an ITIL Service Management Framework. This role work closely with other team members on projects, operational matters, overall service delivery and service transformation..
Essential Duties
- Administer, patch, upgrade, inventory, monitor, and support AEG’s core enterprise services across physical, virtual and cloud compute environments by leveraging IT industry best practices, security practices and other methods to assure system integrity and continuity.
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with various teams or vendors to implement fixes.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability through asset management and monitoring.
- Implement and maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support through root-cause analysis, troubleshooting and collaboration across cross functional teams or vendors.
- Assist with improving Digital Services’ customer support by mentoring and cross training others as needed
- Support and comply with all Cyber Security, Incident Responses, Compliance and Governance initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years IT solution implementation experience (5+ preferred)
- Experience with the integration of cloud services with on-premise technologies from Microsoft and other SaaS providers.
- Experience with cloud service operations, including data assurance, monitoring, alerting and notifications.
- Experience in configuration management and patch management using automated tools.
- Experience of creating and managing database objects (tables, views, indices, stored procedures, UDFs, triggers, etc..
- Experience with Infrastructure automation through a working understanding of code and script such as: PowerShell, Python, C#.
- Experience with source code and version control management tools.
- Experience with Azure and 3rd party monitoring tool
- Experience in using and developing release pipelines for managing infrastructure as code.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with all levels of employees; must be able to communicate technical aspects to non-technical team members
- Ability to work independently to accomplish work objectives, as well as in a team environment.
- Experience of or interest in Sports (specifically Hockey) and/or the Live Entertainment industry.
- Strong understanding of Azure cloud infrastructure and stack of services for IT service delivery and infrastructure (VM, SQL, VNET, User defined routes, Azure Site Recovery, Traffic Manager, Azure Automation, Storage, ARM Templates, Azure Load balancer, API Gateway, Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure AD).
- Foundational knowledge of the ITIL framework, and IT Service Management.
- Extensive knowledge about API designs and use to integrate services.
- A working understanding with CI/CD tools such as VSTS or equivalent
Payscale: $115,800 - $125,000
