Who we want to join our team:
SDL is seeking an early to mid-career individual to support our existing System Engineering activities in support of the exciting NASA project Near Earth Observation Surveyor (NEOS). SDL is playing a key role in developing, assembling and testing sub-systems into a full instrument. SDL is seeking an individual with a demonstrated knowledge of systems engineering practices, as it applies to the aerospace industry (formal systems engineering training is highly desired). The candidate will be joining an experienced and established team who has successfully completed CDR(s) and rigorously developing flight articles. The candidate will regularly interface with internal and external stakeholders, observe and participate in fabrication, assembly and testing operations. Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a system engineering or closely related role
- Working knowledge of system engineering verification activities and requirements management
- Ability to generate and follow technical documentation
- Meticulous record-keeping skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS in systems engineering or a related field
- Spacecraft/payload development experience
- Emphasis in electrical systems engineering
- Optical or electro-optical experience
- Hardware/system assembly integration and test experience
- Test planning and procedure development experience
- Understanding of space environment
- Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, Visure, Team Center SE Etc.)
- Significant presentation preparation and delivery experience
