Job Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Saline, MI 48176 - Hybrid Role
Duration: 12 Months (Hybrid - Role) - (Extension/Conversion will be based on performance)
Pay Rate: ($43-$45) hourly
About the Role:
- The Electronics Systems Routing Engineer is responsible for designing and applying electrical components across various vehicle and mobilityy platforms.
- This includes routing wire harnesses and developing related components to ensure quality, performance, cost, and timing requirements are met for each electronic system.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in cross-functional teams to design packaging structures, prepare drawings, and manage schedules for complex engineering problems.
- Manage and lead part development to meet targets for cost, mass, performance, and schedule with a focus on quality, efficiency, and optimization.
- Communicate clearly and frequently with management teams, project leaders, manufacturing, suppliers, and other design departments.
- Develop design data in 3D using CATIA v5 and create 2D drawings using Zuken E3 (CR5000) CAD software.
- Utilize the TBP process to break down problems and contribute to obeying meetings with other commodity engineers, WH supplier engineers, and vehicle assembly members.
- Prepare process documentation using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Perform other duties as assigned, with the possibility of overtime.
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Electrical or Mechanical.
- Fundamental understanding of vehicle development and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of wire harness manufacturing processes and design challenges.
Required Skills:
- 5 or more years of experience collaborating with suppliers.
- Proficiency in CATIA v5 for 3D data and drawing preparation.
- 5 or more years of vehicle development experience.
- Demonstrated abilities in planning/scheduling, multi-tasking, and engaging with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience supporting a production vehicle trial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Documented problem-solving experience.
- Experience with various stages of vehicle development.
- Proficiency in leading variable workforces and/or Design-In members.
Salary
43 - 45 /hour
