Job Description:
The Systems Integration Engineer is responsible for the integration of software and hardware subsystems and the validation of technical, operational and environmental requirements. This role will also be responsible for developing test strategies, developing automated test scripts, performing tests and documenting results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies for the methodical integration of software and hardware subsystems
- Set up the lab to accommodate the installation of reference systems and simulators
- Support and maintain the reference system in the lab
- Create and review test plans, procedures, scripts, and test estimates
- Create automated testing solutions to enhance the testing process when necessary
- Document defects and create test reports
- Participate and contribute in software/hardware requirements and design meetings
- Some international travel to support customer installations, on-site testing, and training
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Environment:
- BS degree in Computer Science or related discipline (MS degree is a plus)
- 3 – 5 years of experience integrating highly distributed software applications
- Knowledge of various operating systems (Windows or Unix based)
- Good working knowledge of sound software testing methodologies, including the development of test plans, procedures, and reports
- Good working knowledge of relational database products such as MySQL or Oracle
- Good knowledge of hardware and software architectures and networking
- Basic knowledge of programming languages such as C or C++ is a plus
- Knowledge of Pearl, XML, HTML, and JavaScript is a plus
- Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize work appropriately
- Must have the ability to work as a member of a team
- Close attention to details and capable of working independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
