Job Summary:
The Rush Institute for Healthy Aging is dedicated to advancing intellectual development and pioneering transdisciplinary prevention research in the epidemiology of chronic health conditions, such as Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological disorders. Our mission is driven by meticulously designed population-based community studies and randomized clinical trials.
We are seeking a talented and passionate Full Cycle Software Developer to join our diverse team. In this role, you will provide invaluable expertise to the Principal Investigator, contributing to the creation of user-friendly tools, the development of innovative machine learning applications, and the management of complex databases. Your work will support and enhance our research initiatives, enabling us to achieve impactful end user outcomes and generate critical outputs for both clinical and research studies.

Job Responsibilities:
• Designs, develops, and deploys database and web applications for clinic and research studies.
• Provides data management services in the support of clinic and research studies.
• Monitors and reports activities and progresses of clinic and research studies.
• Designs and develops machine learning applications according to requirements.
• Researches and implements machine learning algorithms and tools.
• Runs machine learning tests and experiments.
• Designs, develops, and modifies software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
• Develops or directs software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation.
Required Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
• Software development experience in Python, R, Java, or C++ required.
• Experience in SQL or a related programming language required.
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and libraries required.
• Knowledge of Hadoop or other distributed computing systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to function in a team environment.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
• Previous data management experience with scientific and biomedical and social sciences data preferred.
