Overview
Under the guidance of engineering and/or qualified Systems Technician, train to proficiently assemble mechanical and electronic systems used in In-Line Inspection (ILI) equipment by following proper electrical and mechanical principles and practices using electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, software, and appropriate tools.
Responsibilities
ILI Tool Component Maintenance (50%):
- Assists in the development, assembly, and testing of new design ILI tools and equipment
- Modifies electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deficiencies by fabricating or modifying parts, utilizing available tools and materials,
- Utilizes mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics to prepare and assemble electro/mechanical parts,
- Modifies, maintains/repairs, and upgrades ILI tools and equipment prior to field deployment, in accordance with established assembly and configuration procedures detailed for engineering test and/or customer requirements,
- Utilizes appropriate forms and software to document new build, maintenance/repair, and upgrade histories of ILI equipment and sub-assemblies;
Continuous Improvement (50%):
- Acquires fundamentals associated with building, repairing, and maintaining TDW ILI Tool components,
- Develops and applies the ability to implement approved safety procedures to ensure the personal safety of all parties involved ,
- Develops ability to respond to customer requirements (internal and external) and address problem-solving aspects of all TDW ILI Systems Technician tasks,
- Develops the required experience, skill, and behavior competencies to become a TDW Systems Technician
Experience
- Associate Degree in Electronics, or applicable experience,
- Basic understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within Electronic Technology,
- General understanding of electronic digital and analog circuits and hardware, firmware and software used in data logging applications,
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical devices using schematics and drawings.
