Sr. Transmission Line Design Engineer

The team provides High Voltage transmission line design supporting construction, procurement, and consultancy on a variety of projects within the sector. Due to significant growth across our Transmission and Distribution business our client has an opportunity for transmission line designers keen to broaden their expertise and work on international projects. We are creating our global engineering delivery network to support major upgrade and new build projects and are seeking resources for our team in the Orlando FL area. With resources currently based in the UK and India we will developing a US based team to broaden the ability to resource and support our international clients.

This role will suit someone with experience in transmission line design who is keen to help in the development of our team and grow their team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead approval activities on engineering deliverables across our team.
• Maintain and lead on OHL design staff competence assessments.
• Support work acquisition and development activities.
• Support safety by design assessments throughout the design process.
• Integrate and support the development of innovation within project solutions.
• Create design deliverables to confirm the outputs of the engineering studies to internal and external stakeholders.
• Keep up to date with all technical quality management procedures, developments and specifications related to the discipline work scope.

Qualifications

• Detailed experience delivering transmission line design (up to 400kV).
• Awareness of key Health and Safety impacts on OHL construction contracts.
• Must have a right to work in the US.

Desirable:

• Experience in working on Steel Lattice transmission.
• Experience of providing engineering inputs to OHL Construction activities including the planning and delivery of OHL Construction.
• Understanding of engineering management including schedule and cost management.
• Experience supporting contracting activities.
• Experience presenting technical outputs and supporting client engagements.
